WitaTrap® Weevil Catching Tube complete set - biological control of the large brown weevil (Hylobius abietis)
The optimal trap for monitoring and catching the large pine weevil (Hylobius abietis)
The WitaTrap® weevil catching tube is for determining the existence of and for combating the large pine weevil. Only correctly designed traps guarantee the desired success in catching the weevil. The beetle is targeted and attracted by the pheromone rod. Using the entry lips, which are tapered inwards, it reaches the catching tube and can’t get back out again.

- The trap has an opening at each end for maintenance.
- The lids are easy to open and close.

Application: 6-10 catching tubes per hectare:
The ground at the selected site should be broken up to a depth of approx. 20 cm.
The Hylowit dispenser tubes are placed in the catching tubes.
The trap is pushed with the water-repellent end at the bottom into the loosened area until the
entry lips are touching the soil.
The trap is carefully adjusted, and the edges are sealed up with the earth. The holes for crawling
in must be kept clear. The remaining soil must be smoothed down.

Storage of pheromones: Store product in tightly closed original packaging (usually aluminium packaging), in a well-ventilated place, in a cool and dry place. Keep away from heat and ignition sources. Recommended storage: at minus temperatures e.g. in the freezer.
