The unperforated (dense) material of the tree shelter creates a microclimate on the inside of the shelter which promotes plant growth.In products made from double-wall sheets, condensation forms in the hollow chambers, which has the effect of drip irrigation. Note on attachment: BioWit Classic tree shelters are constantly moved on open areas exposed to wind and are therefore subject to permanent mechanical stress.
Due to the lack of plasticizers and UV stabilizers, the material of the Biowit Classic has the disadvantage that it becomes brittle over time. The mechanical stress caused by wind causes the rod holder and also the locking tabs and ultimately the longitudinal edges to break.
For additional stabilization of the cover, a certified PLA adhesive tape is included, which is stuck around the cover - in two places (once in the upper third and once in the middle) - after the cover has been constructed and positioned over the plant. Furthermore, the cover should be attached to the plant stick with 2 cable ties. (see product images)
