Catefix - 5 kg

CATEFIX is a water-based fixative made from high quality, renewable vegetable materials, for fixing the nests and the oak processionary caterpillar in the nest.

Instructions for use:
Shake well before use. Use in dry weather and an ambient temperature of > 15 ° C Apply by means of a low-pressure spray guard. First apply a thin layer on the outer ring of the nest with an overlap of at least 5 cm. Let dry for about 1 minute Then inject Catefix throughout the entire nest in several places and make sure that Catefix comes into contact with all the caterpillars.

How it works:
During the injection, the fixative seeps into the nest and the caterpillars begin to move. The caterpillars distribute the product themselves inside the nest and start glued together.  The caterpillars die and become completely encapsulated. The cocoons soaked with CATEFIX form a hard shell after drying. When it rains, the fixative becomes sticky again. This causes the nest to collapse even further after drying. If a treated nest falls from the tree, everything will still be held together by CATEFIX. This is a contrast to an untreated nest. It does not matter at what stage the nest is treated. The general rule is: the sooner the better. Even just before the butterflies fly out, a nest can still be treated. This prevents butterflies from flying out and reproducing. The remains of the caterpillars and hairs are also fixed. Old, untreated nests litters from the past season can also be treated. This prevents them from causing nuisance in particularly strong winds.
