Product information "Splendawit - chestnut tortrix moth (Cydia splendana)"
Pheromone to attract the chestnut tortrix moth (Cydia splendana)
- shipping unit: pack of 5 pieces
- against pests on deciduous wood: Oak, chestnut, beech and walnut
The moths of the late chestnut worm (Cydia splendana) are twilight and nocturnal. The caterpillars develop in seeds of oak, chestnut, beech and walnut. The nuts (or fruits/seeds such as acorns, chestnuts, beech nuts and walnuts) are eaten empty and filled with excrement. Infested fruits look healthy on the outside, but fall from the tree prematurely. The caterpillars eventually hibernate in the ground. - pheromone type: plug
- effective: approx. 4 to 6 weeks*
*depending on weather conditions - The male moths are attracted by the attractant. Flight time in Europe starts in mid-July. The traps used must be hung/placed as high as possible in the top of the to be protected tree (approx. 4-4. 5 m).
