Chestnut Leaf Miner Moth (Cameraria ohridella)

Pheromones are chemical substances that are produced by insects and serve especially as stimuli to other individuals of the same species (mostly to attract sexual partners). Pheromones (attractants) today are produced synthetically for a large number of beetle, moth and sawfly species. They play an essential role in integrated pest control (organic fruit growing, viniculture, etc.). In combination with specific traps, these attractants are used to monitor population development and swarming activity. Such monitoring allows you to determine, e.g., the most effective moment for the use of pest control agents. More rarely, pheromone traps alone are used for pest control.

Witasek is the leading company in research and development of pheromones. Below you will find a selection of our product range. Many other pheromones are in stock. Please contact us for more information as well as for tips and instructions for use. You can find trap systems suitable for pheromones in the section Biotechnological Protection - Traps.
